Fast Opera Productions - Inflatable trust inc.

Fast Opera Productions (FOP) is a club of young musicians who present opera in an innovative way, far removed from the productions of the established opera companies in the Netherlands.
FOP performs operas written by young Dutch composers and script writers which last no longer than fifteen minutes. The productions can be mounted in all kinds of locations and FOP needn’t necessarily fill a whole programme on its own. A short opera as far as they are concerned can be part of a concert in which other music is played or other ensembles perform. The texts are always in Dutch and what FOP presents would certainly go down well at an event like Parade, the mobile theatre event.
 

At the Three-Day Music Festival they will be bringing a mini piece to the stage that deals with the highly topical subject of the credit crisis. It takes place at a general meeting of shareholders and the public also has a role: they play the shareholders. Entirely in the spirit of the fast concept the music switches between very different influences, ranging from a pop hit sung by a baritone to a dramatic requiem and an old-fashioned opera aria.
